    Soups - Allowed or Not?

My Doctor likes us to refrain from mixing liquids with our meals. For this reason, soups are kind of frowned upon. This is one small area I'm not exactly compliant on because I love soup. I eat healthy soups, not calorie laden cream soups. This is one area I don't follow orders. What does your Doctor have you do? Do you agree or not?

My surgeon does not allow you to drink with meals, but he never mentioned soup. I never even thought of that, but technically if you can't drink during meals then eating soup kind of breaks that rule.

That is odd, I have never heard that soup should be off of the menu. Some of the doctors (as well as nurses) that I have spoken with mention that cream soup is one of the best things to start out with.

I'm new at this and still trying to decide on the surgery. Why are you not allowed drinking with your meals? Sometimes I feel like I'll choke if I don't have something to drink with my meals.
